(WASHINGTON, D.C. — June 6, 2011) National Executive Director John Marino of the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) for the past two years, will be taking on new responsibilities as Senior Advisor to NIAF. Building on his success advancing the organization’s growth and visibility nationally and internationally, Marino will help guide NIAF at both the grassroots and leadership levels.

NIAF Chairman Jerry Colangelo said, “John continues to add high level value to NIAF through his vision for the organization and a commitment to the Italian American community and Italy. In his new role he will be instrumental in helping NIAF achieve our objectives for 2012 and beyond.”

Prior to his current position, Marino served as Director of Government Relations and Public Policy for eight years. “John’s expertise, especially in the areas of high level programming and long term strategic planning will ensure the continued success of NIAF not only as the premier Italian American organization in the United States but globally as well,” said NIAF President Joseph V. Del Raso, Esq.

“I am fully committed to NIAF’s mission. It is very close to my heart as the son of Italian immigrants and I look forward to helping take NIAF to the next level of growth and accomplishment on behalf of the Italian American community,” said Marino.
