NIAF Cultural Travel Programs to Campania and Lazio Regions of Italy *Weekly Departures To Naples and Rome Beginning September 2007*

(WASHINGTON, D.C.—May 14, 2007) The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) continues its popular travel programs to Italy by offering two new trips beginning in September 2007. “Campania…Land That Will Conquer Your Heart” and “Following in the Steps of the Roman Empire” are nine-day/seven-night tours, each departing from New York City. Costs range from $1,619 to $2,249 per person, based on double occupancy and month of departure.

“Campania…Land That Will Conquer Your Heart” visits the cities of Amalfi, Caserta, Ercolano, Ischia, Naples, Paestum, Positano, Ravello, and Salerno. Guests will stay at the Grand Hotel Salerno. The package includes round-trip airfare from John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City to Naples, three full-day escorted tours, and three half-day escorted tours. Participants may choose from 27 departure dates starting September 10, 2007 and running through June 16, 2008. Costs range from $1,619 to $2,249 per person. The travel program is partially supported by the region of Campania and the Salerno Tourist Board.

“Following in the Steps of the Roman Empire” tours the cities of Ariccia, Castel Gandolfo, Cerveteri, Frascati, Genzano, Grottaferrata, L’Aquila, Montecassino, Rocca di Papa, Rome, and Tarquinia. Guests will stay at the Hotel Italia Fiuggi. The package includes round-trip airfare from New York to Rome, four full-day escorted tours, one half-day escorted tour, and one free day in Rome. Participants may choose from 21 departure dates starting September 18, 2007 and running through May 27, 2008. Costs range from $1,724 to $1,924 per person.

Both packages include airport transfers in Italy, seven buffet-style continental breakfasts, seven dinners at the hotel with wine and mineral water included, one lunch at an Agriturismo farm, English-speaking guides, and all entrance fees. Other U.S. cities of embarkation are also available at an additional charge and are subject to availability and scheduling.
