Find out “What it means to be a young Italian American in the 21st century” at the 12th Annual NIAF Youth Retreat for Italian Americans held in Princeton, N.J., August 5-7, 2005. The NIAF Youth Retreat is a weekend for Italian Americans to discuss, reflect and celebrate what it means to be of Italian American heritage.
The NIAF retreat brings together young adults, ages 18 to 32, who share a common interest in Italy and Italian American issues, for a weekend of cultural, educational and social activities.
A welcome dinner will be held Friday, August 5th, at the Macaroni Grill, across the street from AmeriSuites Princeton. On Saturday, participants will attend discussions from Italian American historians including Dr. Peter Vellon, executive director of the Calandra Institute. A trip to Dorothea’s House and an afternoon at Six Flags Great Adventures Theme Park is also part of the itinerary.
The NIAF Youth Retreat is open to all Italian Americans and Italian enthusiasts. Come alone or bring a friend or relative who shares your enthusiasm for Italian culture. Dress is casual. Retreat packages range from $90 (non-hotel package) to $135 – $285 (for hotel packages) and can include two nights hotel, transportation to events, and meals.
