Corporate Governance and Intellectual Property

The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) Institute for International Law will host its first international legal conference with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and American Bar Association (ABA) President –Elect Michael Greco as the keynote speakers. Internationally known lawyers and jurists from Italy and the U.S. will discuss corporate governance (day 1) and intellectual property (day 2).

A partial list of speakers from Italy include: Judge Geremia Casaburi, head judge, Specialized Intellectual Property Court of Naples; Libero Milone, chairman, Deloitte & Touche, Italy; andMaurizio Romiti, director, MedioBanca and former CEO, RCS Media Group.

Hon. Arthur Gajarsa, judge, U.S. Court of Appeals; Michael S. Greco, president-elect, American Bar Association; John J. Huber, partner, Latham & Watkins and former director of the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Corporate Finance Division; William G. Parrett, CEO, Deloitte & Touche Tohmatsu; and Giovanni Prezioso, general counsel, SEC, are some of the legal professionals representing the U.S. as panelists at the conference. Frank C. Razzano Esq., partner, Dickstein Shapiro Morin & Oshinsky LLP, is the chairman of the NIAF Institute for International Law.

The NIAF conference is held in conjunction with the Foundation’s May 10 Rome 2005 Gala Benefit Dinner at the Excelsior Westin Hotel, a celebration of the business, political and cultural ties between Italy and the United States. The NIAF Rome 2005 Gala Honoree is Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, chairman of FIAT SpA and chairman of Confindustria. Mr. Montezemolo will receive the NIAF U.S./Italy Friendship Award for his corporate accomplishments in leading Italians and Americans into the 21st century.

Continuing Legal Educations credits for this conference will be applied for by Villanova University Law School. Cost: $450.00 includes reception, gala dinner, conference and luncheon.
