Peter J. StrianoPeter J. Striano is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Unity International Group, a company specializing in electrical, structured cabling and IT consulting for Fortune 500 Companies. With offices located throughout the New York tri-state area, including Florida, the United Kingdom and in the city of London, his foresight and response to the rapidly changing needs of the electrical and data communications marketplace has resulted in winning major international projects.
Peter began as a Local #3 IBEW electrician and has dedicated over 40 years to the electrical and IT industry and today his company currently employs over 1,200 people servicing over 100 international clients. Peter is a native New Yorker, educated at Richmond Hill High School and New York City Community College. He has received a Doctorate of Commercial Science degree from Saint John’s University in 1998. He also received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Saint Francis College.
Since Peter’s first days as an entrepreneur, he has made community revitalization efforts and charitable foundations an important priority in his life. Beginning with his community, Peter was President of Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club and served on the board for many years. He also served twice as President of the Tiro A Segno Club and its Foundation which continues to provide inner-city children with educational and job related resources. Mr. Striano was also the recipient of the International Humanitarian Award by the Boys’ and Girls’ Town of Italy, where he serves on the board and is responsible for generating contributions for the education and welfare of young people. Peter is also a board member of Ozanam Geriatric Foundation and is Chairman of its investment committee. In 1993, Peter received the Catholic Charities Bishop’s Humanitarian Award and in 1997 the Distinguished Service Award from the Council of Regents St. Francis College. In 1998, both St. Francis College and Cathedral Club of Brooklyn honored him as “Man of the Year” for his charitable involvement and contributions. In addition, Peter was recently awarded the Distinguished Leadership Award by the Wild Life Conservation Society.
At present, Peter lives in Sands Point, New York, and Naples, Florida with his wife Caroline. His three daughters, Marisa, Christine and Alissa live in the New York area. He is also the proud grandfather of Jessica, Peter, Brian, Steven and Luke. Peter is a member of the New York Athletic Club, The Lotus Club and The Tiro A Segno in New York City, Sand Point Golf Club in Long Island, Naples National Golf Club in Florida and Loch Lomond Gulf Club in Scotland.
