In an action-packed all-expenses paid journey exploring UNESCO sites, local hotspots and breath-taking landscapes. Travel with Italian American peers while being introduced to the vibrant culture, mouth-watering cuisine and fascinating history that puts one’s Italian American heritage into a life-changing context that was never realized before.

Eligibility

  • Must be a full-time college student at a college or university for the semester preceding the trip
  • Between the ages of 18-23 at the time of travel
  • Of Italian heritage
  • Never previously visited Italy
  • A United States citizen or a permanent resident alien
  • Must be a member of NIAF.

The Voyage of Discovery, an enriching journey, embarks on an educational expedition to NIAF’s Region of Honor, an ever-changing destination. Commencing with a captivating four-day stay in Rome, participants will have the chance to delve into iconic Italian cities and towns, explore ancient landmarks, and savor delectable cuisine. Immerse yourself in the local culture, forging unforgettable memories. Additionally, each trip incorporates a day dedicated to community service. Voyage News

The 2024 Voyage of Discovery has been scheduled for June in two separate sessions during the summer of 2024. Each session will comprise 24 students, evenly divided between 12 females and 12 males. Though the Region of Honor has not been publicly disclosed yet, the journey will commence with four days in Rome. Applications for the trip will be accepted by NIAF starting from November 1, 2023.
