Official Statement on Crime Mimicking ‘Sopranos’ EpisodeFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Elissa Ruffino (NIAF) 202/939-3106 or elissa@niaf.org
Attribute to: Frank J. Guarini, chairman, National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)
(WASHINGTON, DC – January 28, 2003) “By promoting violence and worshipping at the altar of gangsterism, ‘The Sopranos’ has produced an ugly scene. The time has long passed for HBO to put the public interest before concern for profit. The blood of Jane Bautisa’s family in Orange County, California is on their hands. The public has a right to know what HBO is going to do about it.”
