NIAF Hosts World Champion Red Sox and Celtics Execs at Roundtable

At Boston’s Fenway Park, NIAF hosted a special pre-press event prior to the Foundation’s panel discussion and luncheon, “The Impact of Sports on Business.” During “Meet the Panelists” local print and broadcast media met Paul Guzzi, president and CEO of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence Lucchino, president and CEO of the Boston Red Sox, Stephen Pagliuca, managing partner and executive committee member of the Boston Celtics and managing director of Bain Capital, LLC and NIAF officials including Salvatore J. Zizza, NIAF president and Charles Conte, NIAF area coordinator for New England. The journalists asked questions and interviewed the panelists.

More than 70 guests attended the luncheon at Fenway’s EMC Club. The roundtable discussion was moderated by Guzzi. Panelists, Lucchino and Pagliuca discussed the following topics: the impact of sports on business; key ingredients in becoming a successful sports franchise in today’s business age; and the role that Italian American heritage played in their success. NIAF Chairman Dr. A. Kenneth Ciongoli concluded the event by thanking everyone for attending.
