NIAF seeks 20 passionate Italian American college students to represent their schools in the 2023 NIAF on Campus Program. We're looking for undergrads who hold leadership positions in university Italian clubs and have a drive to celebrate Italian heritage. As a NIAF representative, you'll help plan engaging cultural events on campus while connecting with fellow leaders. NIAF provides up to $1,500 in funding per academic year so your club can host fun, educational Italian American activities for students. Applications are due September 15, so don't delay!

Annual Giglio Feast in East Harlem, N.Y.
 
August 13: The East Harlem Giglio Feast was founded in 1908 by immigrants from Brusciano near Naples. The Giglio, an 80-foot, 6,000-pound wooden statue honoring St. Anthony, will be lifted by scores of participants on August 13th. Feast-goers will also enjoy live music, entertainment, mass services and Italian street fare.

Fisherman's Feast in Boston, Mass.
 
August 17 – 20: The Fisherman's Feast, an annual event that began in Boston in 1910, was inspired by a tradition that goes back to the 16th century in Sciacca, Sicily. Today's Feast is much the same as it was over 100 years ago with lights adorning the street and the smell of Italian cuisine in the air. The current Feast is organized by the descendants of those original immigrants, and still includes a procession of the Madonna through the streets of the North End.
