Born Terry Gene Bollea to Pietro “Peter” Bollea and Ruth Moody, Hogan proudly carried forward his Italian heritage through his paternal grandfather, also named Pietro, who immigrated from Cigliano in the Province of Vercelli (Piedmont), Italy, in 1886.
