NIAF achieved a historic milestone on June 4, 2025, when members of its Board of Directors were granted a private audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican. This extraordinary meeting took place during NIAF’s Board Mission to Italy, a week-long series of institutional and cultural meetings with local and national officials designed to strengthen connections between the United States and Italy.

This extraordinary day of high-level diplomatic meetings underscores NIAF’s unparalleled influence and recognition as the premier Italian American organization globally.

On June 3, 2025, NIAF commemorated its 50th Anniversary with an unforgettable gala at the historic Palazzo Colonna in Rome, Lazio—NIAF’s 2025 Region of Honor. Surrounded by centuries of history and timeless beauty, NIAF honored five decades of cultural preservation and diplomatic ties between the United States and Italy. The evening was hosted by Mistress of Ceremonies Claudia Vanni, followed by the performance of the national anthems by Cecile. The program saw the appointment of the NIAF Italia Board Members, and the presentation of the “Friends of NIAF” honors.

"Enjoy the Italian Countryside on the North Fork" - Wine & Food Tasting

August 3rd: Join the National Organization of Italian American Women’s Long Island Network from 1 – 3 p.m. for a wine and food tasting at Pugliese Vineyard, one of the oldest wineries on the North Fork of Long Island. NOIAW members and friends in attendance will spend an afternoon seated on picnic benches under the pergola by the pond enjoying a flight (four wines are offered in a flight) of Pugliese estate-grown wines along with a selection of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments from their charcuterie board. Registration fees: $45 Members | $55 Non Members.

July 6: The 6:30 p.m. Mass will be celebrated in Italian by Father Brennan. The church is located at 1015 Baker Street in Costa Mesa. After mass enjoy food and friends in the church hall. The mass in Italian is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month.

Creative Minds examines the achievements and personal stories of Italian American inventors and vanguards, both immigrant and native born, demonstrating that United States innovation has long reflected the diversity of its people. Featuring a range of objects, rare documents and images, and spanning technology, science, cuisine, education, and medicine, Creative Minds emphasizes the stories of the people who dared to think differently and took risks, all in the pursuit of something new. Located at the Italian American Museum of Los Angeles.
