“The Wildest Comes to Washington” Casino Night. Featuring live music by Louis Prima Jr. and The Witnesses
The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)
Louis Prima Jr. and The Witnesses, a 10-piece band whose sound includes boisterous big band, swaggering rock ‘n’ roll, simmering soul, edgy jazz and swing, will perform songs from its latest album “Blow.” “Blow” is eight original songs, including covers of Adam Ant’s “Goody Two Shoes” and Louis Prima Sr.’s “Robin Hood.” It was recorded at the legendary Capitol Records studio in Los Angeles and co-produced by Prima Jr. and Warrior Records CEO Jim Ervin.
The Band began to make its mark with a breakout performance at the 2010 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Two years later, it hit the studio to record its debut offering, “Return of the Wildest.” The critically acclaimed album features fresh takes on Prima classics with the latest album representing the future.
