*Help Raise Awareness of Italy’s Patrimony*

(Washington, D.C.- October 3, 2012) The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) has partnered with Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI), a nonprofit in Italy that preserves and promotes Italy’s cultural and environmental heritage, to determine places in Italy that are in need of preservation and protection for future generations.

Join NIAF’s leadership, its supporters and staff in casting your vote for the Royal Palace of Carditello (Reggia di Carditello, San Tammaro) in the province of Caserta, one of Italy’s treasures that is need of revitalization. The 18th-century palace and its surrounding grounds in San Tammaro, a small village in Italy’s region of Campania, belonged to the Neapolitan Bourbon Monarchy. After many years of neglect following World War II, the palace and its frescoed interior were badly damaged. NIAF supports the restoration of this worthy project.

FAI has launched, with Banca Intesa Sanpaolo, an international survey: “Italian Places I Love” at www.luoghidelcuore.it. FAI will use results to solicit funding from various governmental agencies to raise awareness and provide resources necessary that will preserve and maintain Italy’s treasures.
