Application deadline: April 22, 2004.

The NIAF all expenses-paid mentoring workshops in New York City and Washington, DC will help students develop leadership skills while they attend meetings with important leaders in business and finance or government and public policy, visit institutions related to those fields, and partake in interactive team-building sessions.

The Business S2L Workshop (July 10 – 14) will bring students to the international center of finance, New York City, while the Government S2L Workshop (July 17 – 21) will take students to the heart of the political world, Washington, D.C. Past speakers have included: Congressmen John Mica (R-FL) and Tim Ryan (D-OH); Jack Valenti, president and CEO of the Motion Picture Association of America; Patricia Harrison, assistant secretary of state; Maria Bartiromo of CNBC; and Sam Donaldson of ABC-News.

Students must fill out an application, including background information, an essay and a recommendation from a teacher, school official or political/community leader. Students can apply for either the workshop geared toward government/public policy or business/finance.
