In the shadows of Universal Studios, NIAF hosted journalists of Italian ancestry and Italophiles at the Foundation’s seventh annual media networking forum. The dinner reception was held at Ca’ del Sole, a restaurant well known in Los Angeles for its celebrity sightings, on February 27, 2008.

During the dinner, Italy’s Consul General in Los Angeles Nicola Faganello, actor Robert Davi, media co-hosts Silvia Bizio of La Repubblica and Laurence Darmiento of the Los Angeles Business Journal spoke about the importance of supporting NIAF’s programs and events.

Special guests included NIAF Student to Leaders participants Matthew Giangrande and Lorena Marina Porqueras in addition to Foundation area coordinators Marcella Leonetti-Tyler and Doug DeLuca. Representatives from FOX Sports Radio, Orange County Register, Metropolitan News Enterprise, Clear Channel, and Luxury Magazine shared stories and exchanged business cards.

NIAF media forums give professionals in the communications field an opportunity to foster working relationships with colleagues and learn about the Foundation’s exciting youth initiatives. Through these events, NIAF cultivates an excellent rapport with members of the media, promotes Italian Americans, and examines the important issues facing the Italian-American community today.

The National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) is a non-profit organization based in Washington, D.C., dedicated to preserving the heritage of Italian Americans. Visit our Web site at www.niaf.org
