Leaders from the Milan Chamber of Commerce, the Fashion Committee of Lombardy Region, the National Chamber for Italian Fashion, Coveri Couture and Vernissage Fondazione Ambrosiana will join The Beacon Council as it hosts Miami-Dade business and civic notables on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at The Beacon Council headquarters. During the meeting Memorandums of Understanding will be signed between the Milan Chamber of Commerce, The Beacon Council and the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF) to promote business, arts, and cultural ties between Miami-Dade County and the Lombardy Region of Italy.

“NIAF has played a pivotal role in bringing the Italian delegation and first-time art exhibition to Florida,” Arthur J. Furia, Esq. NIAF’s regional vice president for the Southeast and a partner with the Miami law firm of Gunster Yoakley & Stewart, said. “This collaboration will further develop economic and commercial relations, while creating a fashion and luxury ‘bridge’ between the region of Lombardy and Miami,” Furia added.

Events highlighting the collaboration will begin Tuesday, December 2 and will run through Thursday, December 4 with the inauguration of Biblioteca Ambrosiana’s Exhibition of never-before-seen works by Italian Masters including Leonardo da Vinci, Tiziano Vecellio, Albrecht Durer, and Giovanni Ambrogio at Miami’s iconic Freedom Tower. This marks the first time the exhibition has traveled overseas. Additionally, Italian Designer Coveri will debut its latest fashion collection at the “Art of Italian Style” Gala at the Biltmore Hotel accompanied by musical performances by Paolo Meneguzzi.
