EVENT: NIAF 2011 CONVENTION WEEKEND CONFERENCES

NIAF will host its annual convention weekend from October 28-29, 2011 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C. The Foundation’s 36th Anniversary Gala will be held Saturday evening, concluding two days of activities. The Foundation’s convention offers the best of Italy in Washington, D.C. All conferences are free and open to the public,unless otherwise noted.

•The Victoria J. Mastrobuono Education Luncheon – A special tribute to the late Hon. Geraldine A. Ferarro
International Ballroom East – Concourse Level, noon to 2 p.m. Cost: $70/person

•“The Italian American Vote, Does it Count?”
– A conference featuring leading political strategists and DC insiders discussing the impact of Italian Americans on national elections
Georgetown West – Concourse Level, 2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

•NIAF-Sbarro Health Research Organization International Workshop:
“New Frontiers in Cancer Prevention Research” – presented by Dr. Antonio Giordano, MD, Ph.D. Georgetown East, 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

•NIAF Grant Recipient Presentation: “Reconstructing Italians in Chicago,” a new book release by Fred Gardaphè and Dominic Candeloro
