(Washington, D.C.—February 7, 2007) Italian Family Week is the latest program offered by Lago del Bosco, the Italian language and culture immersion camp at the Language Village of Concordia College in northern Minnesota. Italian Family Week, August 20-25, is geared towards families with children ages 4-10, but all ages are welcome. The camp will feature a host of special activities, including language, music, dance, crafts, and sports from other cultures. For information about Italian Family Week, call (800) 450-2214.

This summer, Lago del Bosco will offer its Italian language non-credit program for students and a four-week high school credit session, July 23-August 18. The high school credit sessions offer at least 180 hours of instruction and are designed for learners of all levels. The non-credit program begins: July 23-28 for ages 7-11; July 23-August 4 for ages 8-14; July 30-August 4 for ages 9-13; and August 6-18 for ages 13-18. NIAF funds scholarships to Lago del Bosco, for students with financial need who wish to attend the camp.

Lago del Bosco is also recruiting counselors. They must be at least 18 years old and proficient in their program’s target language. To obtain an application, visit www.lagodelbosco.org.

Lago del Bosco is the only Italian language and culture immersion camp in the United States. Concordia College has been educating young people in languages such as French, German, Spanish and Russian since 1961. The culturally-authentic camp atmosphere at Lago del Bosco helps young people learn about all aspects of Italian life, history and culture. Participants speak Italian over breakfast, lunch and dinner and also learn about Italian music, dance, art, cuisine and sports.
