About the program
For more than three decades NIAF has been a powerful and unified voice for Italian Americans throughout the country, and a major influence in Washington. We are a national organization that acts as an umbrella to other organizations throughout the country that share a similar mission. In becoming a NIAF Affiliate, your group in no way loses its individual identity. Our intention is to simply strengthen the ties and build unity in the Italian American community nationwide.
As a NIAF Affiliate member, you are eligible for many special opportunities with our organization:
Benefits
- An on-line database for the Affiliate Organizations (please let us know of any changes in your contact information) that receives up to 25 million ‘hits’ per year
- Easy access to our Affiliate Program (you can access it under the “Support NIAF” tool bar)
- Create a forum/blog on our web-site where you can post your comments and suggestions, as well as connect with the other Affiliate Organizations (coming soon!)
- Provide you with a discount for our Annual Gala in Washington DC ($250- regular price is $400)
- Increase your participation in our regional events (please view our calendar to find a list of 2011 events)
- Matching scholarship (NIAF teams up with other organizations that wish to assist students with their educational costs in order to provide more substantial scholarships; click here for more information)
- Annual use of the NIAF headquarters, The Ambassador Peter F. Secchia building in Washington, D.C. for your group’s meetings with the opportunity to plan joint networking events or board meetings
Most importantly, NIAF Affiliate members receive the satisfaction of being a part of programs that have a positive impact on their fellow Italian Americans, as well as the pride in contributing to the preservation of our remarkable heritage. Together we are stronger!
