The Italian American Podcast is the first podcast dedicated to helping Italian Americans learn about and celebrate their brilliant heritage. Hosted by passionate Italian Americans and NIAF members Dolores Alfieri and Anthony Fasano, the podcast format is fresh, new, and perfectly suited to play a prominent role in our digital, technologically-driven age.
Alfieri dedicated two years of her life writing a memoir about growing up Italian American, and Fasano spent the last three years building up four podcasts to over 1,000,000 downloads. United, their quality, professionalism, and enthusiasm has already landed them high caliber guests, among them New York Times bestselling author Adriana Trigiani; Mary Tedesco, host of PBS’ “Genealogy Roadshow”; Maria Laurino, author of “The Italian Americans,” the companion book to the popular television series of the same name; and Kathy McCabe, host of the television series “Dream of Italy.” The show is also regularly featured in iTunes’ “New and Noteworthy,” which highlights the best podcasts out there.
Not only does this popular podcast feature interviews with famous Italian Americans, but it also allows everyday Italian Americans to share their own experiences of living as Italian Americans. The podcast is also conscious of airing episodes that focus on La Famiglia, and the culture and traditions the Italian American family is well-known for.
The National Italian American Foundation is proud to be the official sponsor of The Italian American Podcast, and listeners will hear NIAF news at the beginning of all episodes starting in late February 2016.
