U of Notre Dame Romance Languages & Literatures, Notre Dame, IN 46556 Assistant Professor of Italian http://romancelanguages.nd.edu/ The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship with a specialization in any area of Italian literature post-1600 or in post-unification Italian culture. Outstanding promise in research and an ability to teach language and literature within the framework of an interdisciplinary but literature-based graduate and undergraduate Italian Studies Program are essential. We seek candidates with a historically informed and theoretically sensitive approach to one or more of the following areas of Italian studies: literature, including theater and history of literary criticism; anthropology; cultural studies; gender studies; history of ideas; history of the language; mass media; cinema; social, political and/or economic history; music; sociology; visual culture.
