I am not sure where this topic belongs, but maybe someone will be able to help.
I am looking for any factual information regarding the earthquake in Messina Sicily 1908. Internet informaton in english is very limited. I have gone so far as to e mail the university of Messina but have had no reply. If there is a book that I can buy, or a direction to take this study I sure would appreciate the advice.
Also, a humble suggeston to the moderators; this forum needs a "general discussion area to encourage just that." [;)]
try to locate the book Sicily in Shadow and in Sun, by Maud Howe, Boston: Little, Brown, and Company (publisher), 1910. A very interesting book, replete with contemporary photographs of temporary housing built by the U.S. Navy.
I own the book by Maude Howe, you are right it is very interesting. I have found that some of the information in the book contradicts what is on various websites. That is what began my search. I have seen the wikipedia article, but didn't think about the links at the bottom...thanks. AND PBS?? humm good thought.
