Why don't you go to meetup.com and look for an Italian meetup group in your area? If there isn't one, why don't you look into starting one? Meetup.com is a great place to do so.

That's a good idea to find a Meet-up Group. I also am trying www.livemocha.com . It is a free, social networking space for language instructors and learners. Free lessons in all the skill areas are available to complete at your own pace.
