During his years as Chairman, Vice Chairman and a NIAF Board Member, Dr. Ciongoli personified the Italian American spirit and the great contributions of Italian culture in America. He made us all stand taller and we are indebted to him for his vision and hard work.
His fellow members of the NIAF Board have unanimously set up a fund which will perpetuate his ideas and beliefs. It is named the “Dr. A. Kenneth Ciongoli Colloquium Endowment.”
The Endowment’s purpose is to focus on the global contributions of Western civilization. On campuses of higher education, it will examine our culture, heritage and history. There has too often been misunderstandings and misrepresentations of the Italian American image in our society, and this effort will ensure the positives of our culture will duly recognized.
Dr. Ciongoli was proud of his University of Pennsylvania roots, therefore, The Endowment will fund and host events at eight Ivy League colleges, together with other select universities throughout the United States. It will fund speakers, panel discussions and debates on issues of governance, science, economics and the arts.
"Dr. Ciongoli, on behalf of your NIAF family, we are grateful for your leadership, dedication and support over the many years you have been with us. Your legacy will live on with NIAF forever.
Our deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with Barbara, Adam, Happy, Alessandra, Gregory and Antonio."
